**Immerse yourself in some Antwerp history and contemporary art at this snazzy museum. Make it to the top for the best panoramic view around!

Check out the Museum by the River (Museum aan de Stroom) to get a full view of Antwerp. Everything from its history as a port city to its modern global connections can be found in this 10 story museum
MAS is in the middle of a harbour (not to be confused with the Antwerp port), so you can stroll around and see docked boats here that are used for personal use or city tours.
- At the very top of MAS you’ll find a panorama view of Antwerp so you can see practically the whole city
- Scared of heights? There’s still plenty for you to see! MAS has a large regular exhibit on everything to do with Antwerp’s local history
- Multiple temporary exhibits are also always on display You’ll have to check what they have on at the moment but generally these exhibitions feature international works
- MAS has an array of Maritime exhibits including plenty of model vessels. You don’t have to love boats to admit sailing is awesome - certain pirate movies put that our idea in our collective psyche
- MAS really stands out on the Scheldt river. It’s based on the architecture of historic warehouses, so even the building itself is inspired by history.
- There’s lots to do nearby too. Head over to the Red Star Line Museum or Port House for even more maritime history. At various times of the year, there’s also maritime festivals, so you can sometimes catch a glimpse of some pretty fancy boats.
