**A pretty lake and nature reserve perfect for cyclists and walkers. But in late summer, everyone gets hype for the elecontic music festival Fire is Gold **

Known by the locals and techno fans for the Fire is Gold festival, Middenvijver is a lake and nature reserve music lovers should visit if you get the chance. It happens every year around August to September. Every other day, Middenvijver is a surprisingly peaceful place that’s popular with dog walkers and cyclists.

Middenvijver has tons of big open green spaces for dogs and you to run your legs off. Trek around the lake or combine it with another nearby nature reserve to get all the fresh air you can

  • Take the 1.5km walking path to Galgenweel lake. It’s a nice stroll with tons of nature along the way. (Plus a bar in the summer when you get there)
  • Dogs are allowed to roam all over Middenvijver and they like to swim in the lake, but we don’t recommend you join them in the water!

Fire is Gold Festival Just wanna get all the music you can? In August and September each year, Fire is Gold has multiple stages for each subgenre (urban, hardstyle, EDM and more) that form a circle for the crowd. They put up a skatepark too during the festival BTW.
