**Are you looking for tourist info or just want to see all of Lier’s history? Either way, Lier's town hall needs to be on your list if you’ve never been. **
Everyone is allowed into the ground floor during the day. Here you’ll find helpful guides and interesting bits of Lier’s past. Lier’s main square is a good spot to visit with lots to do around, so the town hall is a pretty conveniently placed landmark. It’s also quite pretty.
The town hall is known for its Belfry. These days it acts as a mini bell tower, but it was built in the 14th century as a symbol of independence. The town's deeds were kept here as well as the town assembly room. Other town halls have belfrys, but not all are attached to rococo style halls. Rococo originated from France - you’ve probably seen it in those big poofy dresses in period dramas. Rococo architecture is just as dramatic and elaborate.
