The Halls of Schaerbeek, or locally known as Les Halles de Schaerbeek, is a venue hosting events that are a little bit of everything for everyone. The venue is right next door to Royal Theater Toone and Maison des Arts, so you know you’re in a cultural hot spot.

What’s on at Les Halles

The event venue always has something going on. Their events calendar is always packed with performances. Watch a dance show, theatre event, musical performance, and much more at Les Halles.

What you need to know

  • The venue is mostly unknown to tourists. Art lovers grab your coat and get a seat!
  • There’s a cafe and bar inside Les Halles. It’s open from 19:00 every night they have a show. You can find some Belgian beers here including Orval and have some food after the show.
  • The performances are always interesting, but the building itself can’t be ignored. Les Halles is a former market building. Look up and you’ll see the impressive glass ceilings. The venue itself is pretty big with plenty of room for concerts and exhibits.
  • Les Halles de Schaerbeek was designed by French architect Gustave Hansotte to be a large and impressive market building. These days, it’s been remade by the community and artists as a cool and trendy events venue.

Tips and Tricks

  • If you’re coming by car we recommend arriving a bit early as parking fills up pretty quick.
  • The ticket office is open Tuesday to Friday from 14:00 to 18:00 if you want to buy tickets in person.
  • Book tickets in advance! If you buy tickets on the day, you’ll have to pay a bit extra.

Getting There

  • By Car: car parking at Parking Bota : 17, Rue Traversière 1210 Saint-Josse-ten-Noode.
  • By Bus: close to Schaarbeek Sint-Maria bus stop. Buses 270, 271, 272, and 620.
  • By Tram: short walk from Sint-Maria tram stop. Tram 92.
