**Enjoy a long, quiet walk around this beautiful nature reserve or cycle your heart out. Either way, you’re sure to get some fresh air just outside the heart of the city **

Only a short trip from Antwerp’s city centre, fresh air is free and readily available on the left bank. Cyclists, dog walkers, and wanderers will all have a great time here. If you’re looking to get out of the city for a bit without suffering a long drive, Het Rot is for you.

Dogs are also allowed to roam here, but it’s best to keep them on a leash. Otherwise instead of a relaxing jog you’ll end up chasing your furry friend all over the grassy fields.

Follow the walking trail to see everything in the nature reserve. Don’t forget to check out the info points along the way to learn all about nature while you’re there.

Het Rot is part of a 33km cycling route. You can find the full map online here. A short trip around the reserve is pretty great too if you’ve only got time for that.

  • Het Rot is right next to the gorgeous lake Middenvijver. Your walk around the reserve is packed with amazing sights of nature
  • It’s surrounded by other nature reserves too if you need even more fresh air slammed into your veins like Galgenweel
