Sink into the pillows with a drink in hand at this summer pop-up bar in beautiful gardens of an ice rink.

The garden of an ice rink may be the last place you expect to find a summer bar, but here we have it. Happily nestled onto the lawn of the Kristallijn ice rink is Gazon, sharing their aim of providing all visitors there with an “unforgettable summer of fun.” With plenty of seats and beach chairs both under the trees or near the pond, the chilled sunshine vibes here are worth checking out for an afternoon.

The good stuff: There’s an extensive drinks menu with plenty of cocktails to sip next to the water, plus a diverse food selection with mezze mixes available every day. If you’re visiting Thursday to Sunday, check out the OFYR (stands for ‘the art of outdoor cooking’, apparently) corner for a BBQ selection. Sunday is also brunch day but make sure you book in advance!

Changing it up: As well as being a spot to just pop in and enjoy the setting, there’s plenty going on throughout the summer months to keep things interesting. From yoga and themed food evenings to DJs and fetes, there’ll be plenty to keep you busy if you become a regular.

Don’t forget the kids!: There’s a large play area for the little ones and if they’re not so little, try a friendly family game of pétanque, kubb or good old cards.
