**One of THE best jogging spots by the city, Galgenweel lake is a popular sailing spot too. Get out of the city and get active at this picturesque spot **

One of the only places to go wakeboarding in Belgium! What the heck is wakeboarding? You stand on a board and get pulled along the water by a boat. If that sounds like your thing, hop on over to Galgenweel to give it a try by booking a session through WakeUpCable

Jog or walk around Galgenweel lake to see stunning views of Antwerp city from across the Scheldt river. Why is this such a great spot for run? Well, it’s basically tailor made for it. The track around the lake has a mix of surfaces so your knees won’t be dead by the end of the run.

If you start at the cyclist tunnel, Galgenweel has a 3.5km loop. Joggers will love the 1.95km surface of wooden chips, but the sand and grass are pretty good too. As you go around the track you’ll have great views of the city as well as the lake. There’s sometimes fishing boats and sailors out there too.

Yup, Galgenweel is the place to be for sailors. There’s a local sailing club. VVW Galgenweel that do lessons for all years and experience levels. If you wanna give sailing a try, and live in the antwerp area check it out.

  • Here in the summer? Go to the summer bar (zomerbar) to cool off with a drink after a jog around the lake
  • The club hosts a sailing competition each Wednesday that starts at 19:30. Go and watch the race or have a late night jog around.Gives you a nice view while running or walking!
