Home to 950 different species from penguins to apes, this zoo is the oldest animal park in Belgium. Great for young kids, there’s playgrounds too!
Explore the exhibits from the butterfly garden and buffalo savannah or relax in one of the cafes. There’s plenty of different species and a total of around 5000 animals to see here. It’ll take a while to see all them so plan for a whole day out! In about 3 hours, you’ll have enough time to see everything without rushing.

Tips and Tricks
- Arriving by train? The zoo is very close to Antwerp central station making it an easy spot to visit.
- The butterfly garden is closed in the winter.

Getting There
- By Car: Parking Station ZOO costs 6€ for zoo visitors until 7pm.
- By Bus: About 20 buses and trams stop outside the Zoo. Check their website for further details about public transport
- By Train: Antwerp Zoo is right next to Antwerp Central Station
