The Beni Haroun Dam is a large strategic hydraulic complex in Algeria, located in the wilaya of Mila in northeastern Algeria. The dam of height, is the largest and largest dam in Algeria with a capacity of 960 million cubic meters. The dam itself is made up of a reinforced dike with 1.5 million cubic meters of compacted rolled concrete. This dam is one of the 65 operational dams in Algeria while another 30 are in progress in 2015. Description With its A large pumping station for raw water, with a capacity of 180 MW, the dam supplies drinking water to several areas bordering the wilaya of Mila, including the wilayas of Jijel, Constantine, Oum el Bouaghi, Batna and Khenchela. The dam also provides a significant amount of irrigation water for a few hundred hectares of farms in neighboring areas. Capability In June 2011, the dam reached a record high since the beginning of its gradual filling. 2005 by reaching the volume of 851 million cubic meters. In, the dam reached a historic peak never achieved since its commissioning to date: 1 billion cubic meters, exceeding by 40 million cubic meters its theoretical capacity (960 million cubic meters).
