A challenging 6 hour hike through Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. Best for expert trekkers!

  • Time to put your hiking skills to the test. Not for beginners. The Kwintelooyen Loop is a 24.6 km difficult trek through some of the best parts of the national park. It’s worth it, we promise. The hike has stunning paths through nature reserves and woodlands. It’ll leave you breathless!
  • Aside from the forests and heathlands, you’ll also discover some landmarks on your trek, including a World War II memorial and the unusual nature reserve Plantage Willem III. Full of slopes and valleys, Plantage Willem III does offer a fair challenge. Some of these valleys actually date back to the last Ice Age. It was also once a tobacco plantation. The more you know!
  • It’s not all tough-going though! The hike does give you plenty of breaks with nice walking paths through the forests of Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park. Beautiful in every season, the Kwintelooyen Loop is definitely worth doing for all our pro hikers. The GPX file & map of the trek can be found here.
