A piece of Indonesia in Valencia - Voltereta Bali

After being living in the fantastic city of Valencia for 7 months, I can finally say I have found the perfect place to be and my favourite restaurant: Voltereta Bali. I had never seen a place like this before (check out this story to find out about a good Indian restaurant in Valencia) and I am very lucky to have it in my current city, in a long and important avenue of the city centre called Gran Vía del Marqués de Turia, where you can also find many restaurants and bars (but nothing similar to Voltereta Bali). Voltereta Bali, which means Somersault Bali in English, aims to make you think you are in Bali, surrounded by the tropical forest and the calming noises of nature, and I can assure you they succeed. I find this place very inspiring and the people who had this idea did an incredible job when building and decorating it. 

I have always wanted to go to** Bali** (I think it’s going to happen soon though), but Voltereta Bali offers you almost everything you expect from Bali and more, because the prices are quite cheap, which I did not expect when I saw the amazing decoration. We ate very tasty and very nice food for very little money – some of the recipes are taken from Balinese cuisine, but you can also find a cool combination of Asian and European food. As I always advise people, try different things and do not always stick to the same plates or you will miss out. Be adventurous and taste those dishes that sound exotic and good to you, as we did when we visited Voltereta Bali! Or if you don’t know what to order, ask the friendly waiters and waitresses for recommendations, because I always find that very helpful and good.

There is nothing like this in the whole city of Valencia, with such a peaceful and natural atmosphere! The entrance to the place is a long corridor through the tropical Balinese forest, with tall trees and bamboo, a stream flowing, fairy lights and birds singing. You can also find a fake market at the entrance and in the dining areas, they have different tents and the bar. We were actually lucky because they gave us one of the best tables in the main patio. I also loved the lanterns all over the place, and I loved the feeling that I got when I was eating in such an amazing place. I think nothing can go wrong in Voltereta Bali because the recreation of the island just gives such good vibes.

One of the most original features I saw was the way the menu looks like it’s written in the form of a diary: a person that travelled to Bali to collect ideas about Balinese recipes, to capture **sensations, smells and feelings **and then recreate them in Voltereta Bali, telling the readers about each day spent on the island. 

It is a very unique place with a very peaceful and calming atmosphere that will allow you to have some of the same feelings you may have if you visit Bali. Go and check out my new favourite restaurant and get to know** a piece of Bali in Valencia.**
