Relax in their beautiful rose garden or work up a sweat in the tennis court. This park has a bit of everything for everyone.

Vrijbroekpark is a large city park that’s known for its rose garden. While that is the main highlight of the park, the other flower gardens (dahlia and canna) are also gorgeous. This park is great for a relaxing walk to admire all the flowers. While it looks best in the summer, there’s lots to do all year round.

The park has lots of space for walking, running and cycling. Joggers will love the 3.3km route from the visitor’s centre. The courts are also used for volleyball and basketball. But for sports the park is mostly known for their tennis courts. If you want a go in the tennis court you’ll have to reserve a spot online.

  • Uncover mysteries and follow the clues in the park on quests. There’s always some kind of activity for kids, but there’s more in the summer. Check their website to see what events are happening right now
  • Locals and tourists all have picnics when the weather is good here. There’s lots of picnic benches, but the spots by the rose garden are the nicest especially for the views
  • Vrijbroekpark has a large playground for kids plus a spot to learn how to cross the road
  • Just past the tennis courts is the dog park. They can run around the meadow here or you can try out the agility training equipment
