The Museum of Norman Civilisation, located inside the Norman castle of Ariano Irpino (AV), is the result of twenty years of activity carried out by CESN (European Centre of Norman Studies), an entity included in the list of 'cultural institutions of national importance ». The museum's holdings consists of an 'important collection of Norman-Swabian coins (among the most significant and the Duchy Augustale) and a fund of other medieval coins.
